Terms of Service for Manuscript Submission
Thank you for your interest in submitting your manuscript to Art Wolf Media. Before you submit your manuscript for publication, please read and agree to the following terms of service:
1. Eligibility for Submission
- Manuscripts may only be submitted by authors who are at least 18 years of age, or with legal parental/guardian consent for minors.
- Only original works are accepted for submission. Submissions must not have been previously published or currently under review with another publisher.
2. Manuscript Submission
- Submissions should be sent through the designated submission platform, in the specified format (e.g., PDF, Word), and include all required information, including a cover letter, synopsis, and the manuscript itself.
- All materials provided must comply with Art Wolf Media’s submission guidelines.
3. Rights Granted to Art Wolf Media
- By submitting a manuscript, the author grants Art Wolf Media a non-exclusive, worldwide license to review, consider, edit, and potentially publish the work in accordance to a separate publishing agreement.
- If the manuscript is accepted for publication, the author agrees to grant Art Wolf Media the rights to publish, distribute, and market the manuscript in print, digital, and/or audio formats in accordance to a separate publishing agreement.
- Art Wolf Media has no rights or license to publish, distribute, or market the author’s manuscript in print, digital, and/or audio formats without a separate publishing agreement.
4. Exclusivity
- If a manuscript is accepted for publication, the author agrees to provide Art Wolf Media with exclusive publication rights for a specified term (usually 1-3 years).
- The author may not submit the same manuscript to other publishers during this exclusivity period without prior written consent from Art Wolf Media.
5. Editing and Revisions
- The author agrees to work with Art Wolf Media’s editorial team to revise and edit the manuscript, as necessary, to meet quality standards.
- Art Wolf Media reserves the right to make necessary edits, including but not limited to grammar, punctuation, style, and content revisions, while preserving the integrity of the manuscript.
6. Compensation and Royalties
- Authors will receive compensation based on a mutually agreed-upon royalty structure (e.g., a percentage of sales or flat fee). These terms will be outlined in a separate publishing agreement.
- Royalties will be paid based on the sales generated by the manuscript, less any applicable distribution fees, taxes, and other expenses.
7. Ownership of Manuscript
- The author retains full ownership of the manuscript and all intellectual property rights unless specified otherwise in a separate publishing agreement.
- Art Wolf Media may request the right to use the author’s name, likeness, and biography for promotional purposes.
8. Confidentiality
- Art Wolf Media agrees to keep submitted manuscripts confidential and will not disclose or share the manuscript with third parties outside of the publishing process without the author’s consent.
- The author agrees to keep any terms of the agreement and negotiations confidential until an official announcement is made by Art Wolf Media.
9. Rejection of Manuscripts
- Art Wolf Media reserves the right to reject any manuscript for any reason, including but not limited to, failure to meet submission requirements, quality standards, content not aligned with the publisher’s standards, or other business considerations.
- Authors may or may not be notified if their manuscript is rejected, and feedback may or may not be provided upon request.
10. Termination of Agreement
- Either party may terminate the agreement at any time with written notice, subject to the terms of a separate publishing contract.
- If the agreement is terminated, the manuscript will no longer be published by Art Wolf Media, and the author regains full rights to the manuscript.
- Any royalties due to the author at the time of termination will be paid, but no further payments will be made if the agreement ends.
11. Indemnification
- The author agrees to indemnify and hold Art Wolf Media harmless against any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from the content of the manuscript, including but not limited to plagiarism, defamation, and copyright infringement.
- The author is responsible for ensuring their manuscript does not violate any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.
12. Author’s Warranties
- The author warrants the manuscript is their original work, does not infringe upon any third-party rights, and does not violate any laws or regulations.
- The author also warrants they have the full right and authority to submit the manuscript and grant the rights outlined in this agreement.
13. Force Majeure
- Art Wolf Media will not be held liable for any failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to, natural disasters, pandemics, war, or changes in law.
14. Governing Law
- The terms of service and any disputes arising from them will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Art Wolf Media is based, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
- Any legal action or dispute resolution will be conducted in the courts and the jurisdiction where Art Wolf Media is located.
15. Amendments to the Terms
- Art Wolf Media reserves the right to amend these terms of service at any time. Any changes will be communicated to author via email or the website. Authors must agree to the new terms in order to continue submitting manuscripts or entering into new publishing agreement.
